Demonstration against undocumented immigrants is held.

Some 8,000 people demonstrate at the State House against a proposal to shelter undocumented and unaccompanied minors from Central America in Massachusetts. The young people, primarily from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras, have entered the U.S. illegally and are seeking asylum from violence in those countries. Demonstrators, some chanting “Send them home?” object to Gov. Deval Patrick’s proposal to offer temporarily shelter to the immigrants at Edwards Air Force Base on Cape Cod.
